We know that the cost of legal fees is an important factor when choosing a family law solicitor

Legal Aid

If you are eligible for legal aid, you can instruct family law solicitors who will claim their fees from the Legal Services Commission. You should consider Legal Aid as a kind of loan, because if you receive a financial settlement the Legal Services Commission may later decide to seek a contribution from you.

Private funding

If you are not eligible for Legal Aid, you must meet your legal fees personally. At Family Law Manchester, we know that being ineligible for legal aid does not make you wealthy. When you first talk with your solicitor you can discuss specific payment terms and find a suitable and affordable rate for your circumstances. For some services there can be a fixed fee, so you will know from the outset how much you will have to pay.
